4. Ti si deo Diynamic ekipe – kako je došlo do toga? Da li su oni tebi prišli?

Zapravo Stimming me je doveo u Diynamic.

Svi ovi projekti me čine poprilično zauzetim trenutno.

Hvala vam!

For Johannes Brecht there’s a rule that his whole life is spent in music. From young ages he started building his own music studio therefore for him there was no alternative in his career. This German producer and DJ is a part of most-wanted Diynamic crew. In short interview we spoke with him about upcoming production, what can we expect from him in 2017, and what are little know facts about Johannes Brecht. Enjoy!

1. Hello Johannes, we are glad to have you here and to bring you a bit closer to our readers. For starters, can you tell us how you got the idea to become an artist?

Well, my whole live was about music. It all started, when I was a little boy. I had piano, double bass and percussion lessons, and besides that I was starting to create my own home studio at a very young age. So the dream to build my life around music, or even become a musician was there for many years.

2. You remixed one of our favorite tunes, “Natural Blues” by Moby. Can you tell us a story behind your remix and how it all happened?

Yes, same for me. I really love the original by Moby. When Martin (Stimming) told me, that he is doing a remix for “Natural Blues”, I asked him for the stems. I love the track so much, that I wanted to do a remix just for my liveset. During my livesets I realized, that I really enjoyed playing the track. So now I’m happy that it became an official release.

3. You released a lot of originals and remixes. What is your approach when it comes to producing an original track and what when you do a remix?

In terms of the production both are completely different from each other. When you do a remix, you’ll have the original track produced by the artist with a certain idea. You got the melody, the harmonies, the groove etc. I always try to imagine how that specific song would sound like if I would be the producer of the original track. Some things stay the same and some things will change completely. In some remixes I just keep the vibe of the original. When I work on my own production, I usually start playing around on the piano, creating some melodies and harmonies. I record these “sessions” with my field recorder so I can skip through all the ideas later on. If I find something that inspires me I start building around it with all other instruments.

4. You are a part of Diynamic crew – how did that come to realization? Did they approach you?

Actually it was Stimming who brought me to Diynamic. At that time we worked on some projects together and I was a little bit lost, so it felt like a natural flow.

5. What is a not known fact about you?

I’m obsessed with ramen noodles.

6. What can we expect from you in 2017?

Some remixes that I finished recently will be released soon. I also have a solo EP in line, which might come out later this year. Additionally to that, I am working on a completely new project with a german avant-garde drummer called Christian Lillinger and I am writing music for an orchestra. All these projects are keeping me busy at the moment.

7. You are playing in Serbia soon – what did you hear about our crowd here?

Yes, it’s actually my first time here in Serbia, so I’m very excited about it and looking forward to play my music here.

Thank you!
