Technasia Toolroom Blender BelExpo Centar

Amil i ja smo počeli 1996, a on je prestao 2010. Pre toga bio sam student. Studirao sam dizajn zvuka na filmu, time sam i hteo da se bavim.

ENGLISH VERSION

1. Who were you before you and Amil became Technasia?
That was in early nineties. I started with my partner in 1996. and he stop in 2010. Before that I was a student. I wanted to work in cinema business, to be sound editor in movies.

2. What was that great success that placed you this high in electronic music scene?
My production. First one was in 2001, a track called “Force” in which I was singing. It was a great hit back in the day. In the last few years there has been a number of tracks, the last one was “Suga” with Green Velvet.

3. What do you do outside of the dance scene?
My regular day, when I’m home, when I’m not traveling is working. I work in the studio, I take care of all the business that has to be taken care of, from accountings to booking my flights, doing interviews. Electronic music world is 24/7. You can’t be a DJ and work only on Fridays and Saturdays. It doesn’t work like that. You have to be able to work all the time. There’s always something to be done. All my free time I spend taking care of my little daughter.

4. What is the one track that never gets old, no matter how many times you hear it?
Lil Louis – French Kiss

5. What are you listening to at the moment?
I don’t listen to music, because I listen to enough music in the club, when I listen to promos and when I actually make music. When I have free time I try not to listen to music, to keep my ears clean and empty. I don’t really listen to anything now, you can look at my phone, there’s no music in there.

6. If you could eternally be stuck in one year’s music scene, which year would it be and why?
This year, because I live in the present, I don’t live in the past.

7. What advice would you give to ambitious DJs?
To work hard. There’s no secret in this business, you have to work a lot. Sometimes you see your idol, you see him there in front of ten thousand people and think: “I wanna be that guy.” What you don’t understand sometimes is that maybe there’s twenty years of work behind that that you don’t see, and a lot of failures as well. You have to fight hard for your thing, but work is the base of it all.

8. Plans for summer?
Usual, Elrow in Ibiza and Ultra Resistance, I’m gonna do some events with them. Few festivals, Benicàssim in Spain, Tomorrowland in Belgium, I don’t remember the schedule, but there’s seven or eight festivals and a lot of gigs everywhere. Busy summer, as always.

9. Expectations of tonight’s show?
I’ve been many many times in Serbia. I always say that from all the former Yugoslavian countries Serbia is where it goes off always. The very first time when I came here, it was for party organized by Marko Nastić, a long time ago, I remember people were crazy. I asked myself: “Where am I?” I went to Niš, Novi Sad, Belgrade and I think that people here have anger for this kind of music. I expect that it’s gonna be as good as all the parties that I did here.
