Najviše mu leži progressive i tech house.

Stvarno sam počastvovan time!

Inče taj label mnogo volim, a i lično poznajem vlasnika G-Mohris-a i veliki smo prijatelji.

Opet, ne privlače me ni artisti toliko koliko me privuče traka koja me inspiriše da uradim remiks i onda se okupiram time. Kao što je bilo i sa „Ederlezi“.

1. Luka Sambe & Filter Bear – Hebe XVI [Lost & Found]
2. Cid Inc. – Arcane Thoughts (Original Mix) [Replug]
3. Khen – Cornfields (Original Mix) [Vivrant]
4. Bachir Salloum – Whirlwind Angels [PlattenBank]
5. Galestian – Tell Me (Ezequiel Arias Space Mix) [ICONYC]

6. Reci nam nešto o elektronskoj sceni u Danskoj.

Prvi je 23. avgusta u klubu NL gde ću vrteti dvočasovni set, a warm up će mi raditi dugogodišnji prijatelj i kralj warm up setova Clay van Djik.

ENGLISH VERSION

Born and raised in Denmark, George Yammine discovered his passion for electronic music during his teens. This was further developed when he moved to his parents native country of Lebanon where he furthered his education. There he became involved in the Lebanese Progressive House music industry. He learnt the art of DJ-ing and developed his sound engineering skills.

Upon his return to Denmark, he continued refining his electronic music making and began producing his own tracks as well as remixing tracks made by other music producers and DJs. He has released tracks with „Global Underground„, „Joof Recordings„, „Bonzai Records“ to name a few. His heart lies in Progressive House and Tech House music. Pure FM in San Francisco has featured him on their radio show after producing several tracks that got their attention. His music has been played and supported by some of the world’s leading DJs such as Hernan Cattaneo and John Flemming, as well as others. His newest venture is a radio show called „Cymatics“ that is released on every second Saturday of each month on Proton Radio.

Who is George Yammine and why we interviewed him find out below. Also he agreed to reward you all with an exclusive edit you probably heard a few days ago in Hernan’s „Resident“ radio show.

01. Hey George – can you please tell us a few words about yourself to our readers. Who are you as a person and as an artist?

Hey guys. First of all thank you a lot for this interview.

Well, to be honest, I’m not the best in describing myself but I’m a father to two beautiful boys and have an amazing woman always by my side. I live in Denmark and I’m an extremely busy man on a daily basis having to take care of my job, family and of course my music. I spend a lot of long nights in my studio. Me as an artist, I can describe as a person that follows his dream no matter what. I started 15 years ago, in Lebanon where I originally come from. In the beginning I concentrated more on DJ-ing but my love for music was growing bigger and bigger. There has been a lot of ups and downs throughout the years but one thing I know is that I would not give up. As for now I would like to consider myself more as a producer than a DJ. I passed through a lot of different genres until I found myself and the sounds that best describe me.

02. You recently went into spotlight by doing a superb remix that Hernan Cattaneo played in his radio show. Can you tell us a little bit about the story behind the remix and how Hernan eventually played it?

From the first moment I heard „Ederlezi“ by Goran Bregovic I got goosebumps and I knew that I had to make a remix of it. I have to also mention that my wife is Bulgarian so I’m very familiar with the Balkan culture which I am in love with. One day I just got inspired and it took me less than two days to finish the remix. I was so deeply into it! After finishing, I thought I would send it to Hernan Cattaneo. It was actually a surprise for me that it got supported on one of his latest „Resident“ shows, but of course an honor!

03. What are you preparing next from your studio that we can expect?

As I mentioned earlier, I’m spending a lot of hours in my studio lately and I feel super inspired especially when I am getting continuous support. It just gives me more motivation and confidence to create more music. So there’s a lot of music coming soon. There is a release coming soon that has already been supported once again by the Maestro. It will be out later on this year on „Per-vurt Records„. A label close to my heart, because I have an amazing connection with my friend G-Mohris, the label owner. I would also like to mention a project I made earlier this year in collaboration with Luke Santos and Marcelo Vassami. It’s a track with a very special place in my heart and was a great pleasure and honor working on it with my dear friends in Amsterdam. The work was absolutely flawless and I am looking forward for more to come. My dear friend Luke Santos is a very special person to me and a lot of my progress is because of him and his continuous support.

04. Is there any artist that you would love officially to remix and why?

Very tuff question! There is a lot! My dream would be to remix a Guy J track. But this is still a too big bite for me to handle since his tracks sound so flawless. So we can keep it In the dream box. As for now I don’t aim any specific artist to remix for. I have done different remixes for various artists, but lately I have been working hard on my own production. For me it’s not about the artist but the track! If I hear a track that inspires me, I immediately feel like I need to remix it and give my own touch. Just like „Ederlezi“.

05. You current Top 5 tracks are…

There is a lot of good music out there, so it is really hard to make a top 5. Here are some of my favourites:

1. Luka Sambe & Filter Bear – Hebe XVI [Lost & Found]
2. Cid Inc. – Arcane Thoughts (Original Mix) [Replug]
3. Khen – Cornfields (Original Mix) [Vivrant]
4. Bachir Salloum – Whirlwind Angels [PlattenBank]
5. Galestian – Tell Me (Ezequiel Arias Space Mix) [ICONYC]

06. Can you tell us a bit something behind your local scene and what are „goods and bads“ of it?

If we have to talk about the local scene in Denmark, where I live, I will have to disappoint a lot of people by saying that there is not really a demand for my style of music. However, there is my „second home“ Amsterdam, where there is way more demand for the music. It’s the place I visit several times throughout the year and would like to think of it as my local scene. The good thing about living in Denmark is the lifestyle that gives me the chance to concentrate a lot on my music production, since life here is very relaxed. On the other hand, I miss the hype! But as we all know, nothing is complete and perfect.

07. For the end are there any notable gigs or parties where we can hear you?

Yes!!! I can proudly announce that I have two upcoming gigs in Amsterdam that are confirmed. One is on the 23rd of August in club NL, where I am going to play two hours set. Clay van Djik, a very dear friend and really well experienced DJ who knows the art of warm up by heart, will be warming up. I am really excited and looking forward to what he has prepared. The second one will be in October at ADE. It’s „One of a kind & Stellar Fountain ADE 2017 Showcase“ at the Recycle Lounge Gallery Club. I will be playing b2b with another close friend of mine Mark De Koning from the Netherlands. I have been invited for this showcase by Erich Von Kollar from „Stellar Fountain“. As mentioned before I started working on my dream long time ago, and it is slowly starting to pay off. This is an amazing start for me having gigs in Amsterdam and I am definitely looking forward for what the future will bring.
