INTERVJU | Edu Imbernon: Uradio bih remix za Depeche Mode ili New Order [SRB/ENG]

Edu Imbernon je multitalentovan umetnik – producent, remixer, DJ, vlasnik izdavačke kuće i event pomoter.

Njegov zaštitni znak je emotivni, melodični zvuk: jedinstvena kombinacija elektronike, housea i indie muzike. Doživeo je naglu popularnost remixom pesme “Cristalised” benda The xx. Usledili su remixi numera “Emerald City” od Hot Natured, “I’m Aquarius” od Metronomy, “Right Track” od WhoMadeWho. Nakon toga, započeo je sopstvenu produkciju, objavio je numere “Punset”, “Imberlove”, “Fade It All Out”, kao i “Fayer”, koja je izglasana za najbolju pesmu 2014. od strane Vicious Music Awardsa. Naredne godine osvojio je titulu najboljeg izvođača. Njegov zvuk je evoluirao kroz numere “Fixing Fires” i “Bitter Fate”, kao i kroz skorašnju saradnju sa Duologueom na pesmi “Underworld”, koja je zadobila podršku od strane mnogih DJ-eva.

Na ovogodišnjem Central Dance Eventu Edu Imbernon će 30. decembra nastupiti rame uz rame sa Stephan Bodzinom i Nicolas Masseyeffom u Hangaru i zagrejati nas za doček Nove godine. Domaću podršku će im pružiti Ilija DJokovic.

01. Zdravo Edu, hvala na odvojem vremenu za ovaj intervju. Jednom si izjavio da dozvoljavaš da te sve oko tebe inspiriše, ali si spomenuo samo dobre stvari kao na primer dan proveden sa prijateljima ili dobar roštilj. Šta radiš kada ti se nešto loše desi?

Život je pun uspona i padova i to je njegova magija. Trudim se da ne ulazim u studio kada imam loš dan, a tih dana je, srećom, veoma malo.

02. Ako se ne varamo pokrenuo si Fayer label i Fayer bar u Valensiji. Reci nam kako uspevaš da vodiš oba projekta, nastupaš kao DJ i praviš muziku?

Fayer label i evente vodim već 5 godina, veliki sam gurman – gde moram da iskažem svoju kreativnost, a to se odnosi i na muziku naravno – tako da je to još jedan način da se izrazim. Restoran sam tek otvorio i to mi trenutno oduzima malo više vremena, ali kad jednom sve legne na svoje mesto biće i to ok.

U novembru nemam toliko DJ nastupa, tako da mogu da se posvetim produkciji, labelu, eventima i naravno restoranu.

03. Imaš li neku neobičnu naviku?

Mislim da nemam. 🙂 Jedina stvar koja mi pada na pamet je led – kada pijem vodu, sok ili belo vino na primer u čaši mora biti leda, mnogo leda.

04. Da li si u poslednjih 5 godina postao mudriji i bolji u odbijanju nečega?

Da, naučio sam da odbijam ponude za koje mislim da me neće približiti zacrtanom cilju. Ne prihvatam sve što mi se ponudi – nastupe, remixe, izdanja,…

05. Uradio si remixe za mnoga velika imena kao što su The xx, Hot Natured, Tiga, itd. Kog artista ili traku bi voleo da remixuješ u budućnosti?

Oduvek sam želeo da remixujem bendove kao što su Depeche Mode ili New Order, ali videćemo možda i to ostvarim jednog dana. 🙂

06. I za kraj, šta možemo očekivati od tvog seta 30. decembra u Beogradu kada ćeš na Central Dance Eventu nastupiti sa Stephan Bodzinom i Nicolas Masseyeffom?

Kao i uvek, očekujte jedno lepo i melodično putovanje od početka do kraja. Zaista se radujem svom prvom nastupu u Beogradu!

01. Hey Edu, first thanks for your time. We really appreciate it. You once said that you let everything around you influence you – but you mentioned mostly good stuff like a day with friends or good barbecue. But what do you do when something bad happens around you?

Life is about up & downs, but thats the magic of it. I try to be away from the studio on those bad days, it generally doesn’t happen that often (thankfully).

02. You’ve started Fayer imprint and Fayer Bar (restaurant) in Valencia if we are not wrong, tell us how does this relate to one another and how do you manage it time wisely due to gigs and music production?

Been running Fayer (label & events) for around 5 years now, I have a big passion on food, as, for me, its about the creativity (which relates to music as well) so its just another way of express myself artistically. I just opened the restaurant so its taking a bit more of my time at the moment but once its all running smooth it will be ok.

Also im not playing that much during November which gives me time to focus on music creation, label, events and of course the restaurant.

03. What is an unusual habit or an absurd thing that you love?

Don’t think I have any unusual habits. 🙂 If I had to mention one I’d say I love my drinks (water, sodas, even white wine) with ice, lots of ice!

04. In the last five years, what have you become better at saying no? What new realizations and approaches have helped you to deal with that?

I learned to say no to gigs and in general to prioritize more my main goal rather than take everything that comes to me (like remixes, EP proposals,…).

05. You’ve remixed a lot of big names like The xx, Hot Natured, Tiga etc. what or which track would you love to remix in future and why?

I’ve always wanted to remix more classic bands like Depeche Mode or New Order, maybe one day. 🙂

06. For the end you are performing at CDE with Stephan Bodzin and Nicolas Masseyeff on 30th of December. What will be the story of your set in Belgrade?

I guess it will be the same as it always is, a melodic and dreamy journey from start to end.
