Khen

On će se u subotu 29. decembra pridružiti progressive house avanturi u Hangaru u Luci Beograd u okviru šestog izdanja Central Dance Event novogodišnje platforme.

On me je uveo u vode elektronske muzike i muzičku produkciju.

2019. će biti još više dobrih žurki i muzike koju spremam. Jedva čekam još jednu raznovrsnu godinu punu muzike i iskustava.

ENGLISH VERSION

01. Hello Khen, we are glad that you got some time to speak with us between busy schedule. Can you tell us first the story behind an artist Khen and how did you involve into electronic music?

I’ve always been intrigued by music and music production, and when I was younger I preferred stayed inside and mess around with synthesizers and drum machines than play with the other kids. I started out thanks to my older brother, who is a well-known DJ in Israel (VIC). He introduced me to DJing and electronic music. I learned to play vinyl when I was really young and started playing at clubs at 15, and from there it just kept on going.

02. You’ve become one of the most wanted artists next to Guy J, Guy Mantzur, Sasha, Jeremy Olander, Henry Saiz and many others from progressive genre. How do you think you found your niche between these big artists or did they help you in launching of Khen?

They definitely helped me out in different ways, both professionally and personally, which is even more important sometimes. I’m lucky to have both Guy and Guy as close friends and I’ve learned a lot from them. All the guys that you mentioned have always believed in me, which I’m very thankful for, and having such big artists supporting you is always a good thing.

I don’t see myself as a brand or product though. It’s taken many years and been a gradual process to have my music heard, so it was never “launched” in that sense. I work hard and love to make music and I’m thankful that I can do what I love every day.

03. What is one of the best or most worthwhile investments you’ve ever made?

Since I was very young I’ve always been into instruments, and I’ve investment my money in studio stuff and stuff like that. I think the best and most worthwhile one is the time I invest in making music, how I can improve myself and develop my sound further.

04. When you feel overwhelmed or unfocused, what do you do?

Spending time in the studio is the most important therapy that I have, so in some way just being in the studio playing around can be work for me. If I’m unfocused I try to relax, hang out with friends, eat good food, and do something else until the inspiration comes back.

05. You are coming to play at CDE with Chicola and Patrice Baumel on 29th of December. What can we expect from you from music side?

As always, a mix of my own productions and tracks from other producers I like. Will definitely play some new unreleased music I just finished. I usually don’t plan my sets so much, I like to feel the vibe and then go from there. I plan on finishing.

06. For the end tells us what are you preparing in 2019 career-wise?

This year, as far as music releasing is just finished. I released EP for an “Anjunadeep” label called “Closing Doors”. It’s a two tracks EP that I’ve been playing non-stop in the last year or so, and I can’t wait to share it with you guys!

2018 in general has been good to me with a lot of great shows. In 2019, there will be more good shows and special music I’m working on. I look forward to another colourful year of music and experiences.
